The Metropolitan Region of The Embroiderers’ Guild of America, Inc., is one of 12 regions within EGA. The Metropolitan Region has 16 chapters in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania.

All chapter members may participate in all chapter and region activities. Chapter membership provides the opportunity to meet other stitchers, attend programs, participate in many educational offerings, receive a newsletter, and learn hands-on stitching at all levels in a wide variety of techniques. Chapters often organize local exhibits of members’ work.

The Metropolitan Region offers a newsletter, region-wide correspondence courses, region-wide education classes, and Special Interest groups. The mission of  The Embroiderers’ Guild of America is to inspire passion for the needle arts through education and the celebration of its heritage.

We define the needle arts as any technique that uses a needle and a thread. Our interests and skills range from the traditional – crewel, cross stitch and needlepoint – to the more unusual – beading, temari and stumpwork.
